Description
Lyrische, in zarten Grautönen gehaltene Darstellung Christis’ als Hirte, der das abgekommene Lamm von einem Felsvorsprung herab hebt. Es handelt sich hier um eine Vorzeichnung für eine Stahlstichfolge von insgesamt 50 neutestamentlichen Szenen für die erste illustrierte Volks-Bilder-Bibel, die 1836 im Perthes Verlag in Hamburg erschien. Für eine vergleichbare Zeichnung im identischen Format siehe Staatliche Galerie Dessau, Kat. zur Ausstellung im Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, Ludwigshafen, 1990/91, Kat. Nr. 100, S. 92. Verso mit Wolkenstudien in Bleistift. Verso leicht stockfleckig, recto kaum durchschlagend und mit geringen Gebrauchsspuren, sonst in altersgemäß gutem Zustand.
