Description
Zwischen 1774 und 1777 erschien erstmals Claude Lorrains “Liber Veritatis”, ein Katalog seiner Gemälde, mit Mezzotinti in Sepiafarben von Richard Earlom. Das Werk wurde zu einer Inspirationsquelle für zahlreiche Künstler im späten 18. und frühen 19. Jahrhundert. Auch Dillis lässt sich hier von Lorrains offenen Landschaften im Gegenlicht anregen und übernimmt die Sepia-Manier des französischen Meisters. Verso mit einer weiteren Bleistiftzeichnung einer Landschaft mit Burg, nach Lorrains Gemälde “Landschaft mit der Nymphe Egeria”. Mit Nagellöchlein in der Bildmitte von einem Zirkel. Verso mit Resten alter Montage, sonst von sehr guter Erhaltung.
