Description
Kleinformatige, spontane Figurenstudie, teilweise gewischt. In charakteristischem, sicher erfasstem Strich zeigt Menzel zwei Marktfrauen im Gespräch, von denen eine wohl eine Gurke oder Melone in der Hand hält, wie Menzel das vielleicht im Zusammenhang mit dem Gemälde “Piazza d’Erbe” in Verona beobachtet und skizziert hat. Im Rand stockfleckig und leicht gebräunt. Die rechte obere Ecke aufgrund von Papierverlust hinterlegt. Verso mit Spuren von alter Montage. Von schönem Gesamteindruck.
