Description
Stimmungsvolle Landschaftsdarstellung mit Blick über den Simssee nach Südosten, die Alpenkette im Hintergrund. Wengleins Bilder bauen auf einer genauen Naturbeobachtung besonders der oberbayerischen Landschaft auf. Der komplexe Wolkenhimmel führt zu einer atmosphärischen Verdichtung der Ansicht, während die in dicken Pinselstrichen impressionistisch erfasste Kuhherde im Vordergrund das Gefühl der Weite verstärkt. Das Werk stammt wohl aus den späten 1870er oder 1880er Jahren, in denen Wengleins Landschaftsmalerei ihren Höhepunkt erreichte. – In sehr gutem Originalzustand.
