Farbige Holzskulptur, mit je einem Serpentin und Moosachat. (1980). Ca. 54 : 43 : 32 cm. Auf der Unterseite mit dem “Otmar Alt Werkstattstempel”. Eine von nur 10 Skulpturen, im Inneren mit dem Buch “Briefe an Otmar Alt”, Edition elefant-art, 1979. Ca. 28 : 23,5 cm. Eines von 20 nummerierten Büchern, handgebunden, unpaginiert, im Impressum datiert und signiert. Im O.-Ledereinband. Das Buch mit 13 handaquarellierten Pochoirdrucken auf chamoisfarbenem Velin mit dem Trockenstempel der Edition. (19)79. Bis zu ca. 19 : 15 cm (Blattgröße ca. 28 : 23,5 cm). Je rechts unten signiert und datiert.

Bound by hand, with unnumbered pages, signed and dated on the imprint. Original calf cover. The book contains 13 pochoir prints, coloured by hand, on wove with the edition’s blind stamp.(19)79. Each c. 19 : 15 cm (sheet c. 28 : 23.5 cm). Each signed and dated lower right.

Description

Groteskes und sehr seltenes Gesamtkunstwerk, von origineller Konzeption und der typischen Farbenvielfalt. Von insgesamt 20 Büchern wurden nur 10 mit der zugehörigen Skulptur herausgegeben. Alt verschmilzt plastisch androgyne Formensprache mit farbstarker Kunstphantasie, um dem lyrischen Wort der Briefe Ausdruck zu verleihen: “Alle Märchenformen, alle Märchenfarben, alles hat auf Dich gewartet/Die Erinnerung eines Vogels, die Erinnerung einer Blume aus fernem Paradies” (Brief von Nanana an Otmar Alt, Nr. 7). – Die Skulptur teils etwas bestoßen und mit vereinzelten Farbabplatzungen. Die Farben der Drucke verso teils etwas durchschlagend, sonst farbfrisch und sehr gut erhalten.
