Stimmungsvolle Landschaftsaufnahme mit düster verhangenem Wolkenhimmel kurz vor einem Gewitterausbruch. Im Mittelpunkt hat eine junge Bäuerin auf einem abgeflachten Stein Platz genommen. Ihr lebhaftes Wangenrot nimmt im hell-dunklen Wechselspiel des Gewitterlichts beinahe sakrale Züge an. Wohl als Ölstudie für ein Gemälde von 1831 aus dem ehemaligen Besitz König Ludwig I. entstanden (Neue Pinakothek, Inv. Nr. 550). – Mit mehreren Retuschen vor allem im Kleid und im Himmelsbereich, sonst gut und farbfrisch.
