Description
Schöne Arbeit aus der kalligraphisch geprägten Phase des Künstlers. Den Titel “Die Schiffe der Korsaren” hat Corpora, wie so oft, dem Werk wohl rein assoziativ nach seiner Vollendung verliehen; tatsächlich erinnern die linearen Pinselschwünge an die Takelage von Segelbooten. Schiffe hatte schon der junge Maler im heimatlichen Tunesien in den dreißiger Jahren mit Vorliebe gemalt; sie ziehen sich wie ein Leitmotiv durch das gesamte spätere Werk. – In sehr guter und farbfrischer Erhaltung.
