Description
Um 1993 greift Lüpertz erneut auf das Thema “Köpfe” zurück, mit dem er sich bereits in den 60er Jahren intensiv auseinandergesetzt hatte. Der neu einsetzende Zyklus, mit dem Titel “Männer ohne Frauen – Parsifal”, definiert eine neue Bildformel: Ein einsamer (Männer-) Kopf wird frontal und in der Regel leidend dargestellt. Lüpertz zeigt weinende Köpfe, deren androgynes, tränenüberströmtes Wesen Bilder von Einsamkeit und existenzieller Isolation wecken. – An den oberen Ecken auf Unterlage montiert; im Randbereich etwas unregelmäßig und gewellt, sonst farbfrisch und gut.
