Eine der anmutigsten Schöpfungen des Künstlers, weist die “Kugelkopfsäule” besonders starke mimetische Züge auf. Auch wenn sie aus geometrisch abstrahierten Formen zusammengesetzt ist, ist der Eindruck eines geneigten Köpfchens unmittelbar präsent. Das Thema ist die Balance, wie so oft bei diesem Künstler; hier liegt zwischen dem “Köpfchen” und dem säulenartigen Körper eine weitere Kugel, sodass ein Eindruck von Beweglichkeit, von immer wieder neu zu erringendem Gleichgewicht entsteht. Auch wenn eine Auflage von sechs Güssen geplant war, wurden laut Clarenbach nur fünf ausgeführt. Der Künstler schuf jedoch drei Güsse in einer auf 267 cm vergrößerten Version für den öffentlichen Raum. – Vereinzelte oberflächliche Kratzer in der Patina, sonst von sehr schönem Gesamteindruck.
