Kobell fertigte zahlreiche Haltungs- und Typusstudien von heimischen Rinder- und Pferderassen, die er in seine späteren Gemälde einfließen ließ. Hier zu sehen, ein Prachtexemplar des einfarbig-rotbraunen bayerischen Landviehs von hinten. – Vereinzelte Einrisse im Randbereich, umlaufend etwas unregelmäßig beschnitten und mit teils kleineren Retuschen.
