Description
Rembrandts letzte Radierung, als Frontispiz für das 1665 publizierte Lehrwerk “Magni Hippocrateis coi opera omnia …” des Dargestellten von dessen Sohn Hendrick van der Linden in Auftrag gegeben, wurde nicht in die Buchausgabe aufgenommen, da das Blatt nicht gefiel. Schöner wirkungsvoller Abzug, an drei Seiten mit einem kleinen Rändchen um die Plattenkante, der unbearbeitet gebliebene Unterrand unterhalb der Darstellung, zur Aufnahme des Namens des Porträtierten, fehlt wie üblich. – Verso Papieroberfläche etwas aufgeraut, ansonsten in gutem Zustand.
