Roller war seit 1822 als Theaterdekorationsmaler in München tätig gewesen, es folgten Aufträge in Wien, Berlin und Kassel, bis er schließlich 1833 an das Kaiserliche Theater in St. Petersburg berufen wurde, wo er bis zu seinem Tod lebte und arbeitete. – Von sehr schöner und farbfrischer Erhaltung.
