Description
Erna Schmidt-Caroll, die sich in Ihrem Œuvre vorwiegend auf Landschaften und Menschendarstellungen konzentrierte und als Illustratorin sowie als Moderzeichnerin arbeitete, setzt in gekonnter Hell-Dunkel-Wirkung und gezielt platzierten Farbflächen das vorliegende Frauenporträt im Halbprofil um. Als kompositorische Unterstützung nutzt sie dabei in einzelnen Partien das freigelassene Papier und gibt damit der ganzen Darstellung eine gewisse Leichtigkeit. Die Künstlerin zählt zur sogenannten “verschollenen Generation”. Viele ihrer Werke haben die nationalsozialistische Diktatur nicht überdauert. Mit kaum merklichen Gebrauchspuren. Ecken mit alten Klebespuren. Verso Reste alter Montage. Sonst in guter Erhaltung.
