Description
Das reizvolle Aquarell zeigt eine Gruppe von vier Männern im Gespräch vertieft auf antiken Mauerresten lagernd. Davor hat der Zeichner als eindrücklichen Hinweis auf die Tradition der Antike Reste eines Architravs, eine Säulentrommel und ein Kapitell postiert. Dargestellt ist wohl der Tempel des Saturn, auch bekannt als Concordia-Tempel, am Forum Romanum vor seiner Ausgrabung in Rom; Dillis hatte dieses Motiv bereits auf seiner ersten Romreise 1794/95 dargestellt und noch einmal um 1818 während seiner Italienreise 1817/18 für das Album des Kronprinzen.
Seitlich beschnitten, verso mit Montageresten, farbfrisch erhalten.
