Faun with a pan flute
Description
Das kleine, verso alt als “Partie aus dem Nymphenburgerpark” bezeichnete Gemälde zeigt die 1815 entstandene Skulptur des “Ruhenden Pan” von dem Bildhauer Peter Simon Lamine. Bei der Gruppe handelt es sich um die einzige Gartenskulptur, die während Friedrich Ludwig von Sckells bayrischer Amtszeit aufgestellt wurde. Sie krönte eine künstliche Quelle, die den Abfluss des Großen Sees bildete.
