Description
Diese reizende Tanzszene entstand wohl für die Serie Le Bon Genre, die 1800-1822 von Pierre de la Mésangère herausgegeben wurde. Die kolorierten Kupferstiche zeigen schicke Interieurs, Kostüme à la nouvelle mode und verschiedenste Paartänze; meist tun sie dies in einer beschwingten und humorvollen Art und Weise. Obwohl kein Motiv der Serie mit dem Balletttanz korrespondiert, erinnern Stil und Komposition an die Tafel La Poule (1812), in dem zwei Paare Händchen haltend in einer Linie tanzen. – Verso brauner Fleck, leicht nach recto durchscheinend im linken Rand. Insgesamt in guter Erhaltung.
