Description

The pair of figures on the front is probably a preparatory study for the two apostles at the right edge of the picture in the depiction of the incredulous Thomas (Basílica da Estrela, Lisbon, cf. Bowron 462). Verso studies for the judgement of Solomon (whereabouts unknown, cf. Bowron 16). Mounted in a collector’s mat (mask). – Paper slightly thinned in some areas. Some brown stains. Two horizontal creases. In good condition considering its age.
