Description

Excellent, delicate lifetime impression from the finished plate with the signature and date as well as the short strokes added under the left eye. A good copy of this early portrait study, in which all the subtleties of the etching are expressed in the lines of the wrinkled face, hair and veil. Classified as “R +” by Nowell-Usticke and labelled “A scarce, very desirable portrait”. Trimmed just inside the plate edge. – Paper slightly stained. The upper left and right corners reattached. A small restored tear in the left edge. In fine condition. Rare!
