Description

Fixed in frame. Not examined out of the frame. Painted on four wooden panels mounted on top of each other. Rare, large-format painting by Ewald that can be counted among his primarily Expressionist or Cubist works from the 1920s. Important works by the artist can be found in the Historisches Museum Hanau. The city of Frankfurt and Hanau dedicated an extensive retrospective to their citizen of honour, who was a teacher at the Hanau Drawing Academy among other work, in 2015/16. He left behind a multifaceted oeuvre ranging from paintings and jewellery to glass and enamel works.
