This work is registered in the online Catalogue Raisonné of works by the artist under the number 1964/6 (https://www.karoline-wittmann.de/). Provenance: the artist’s estate, with stamp and hand-written Catalogue Raisonné number on the reverse on the canvas and stretcher.

Description

Karoline Wittmann is a Munich-based exponent of expressive realism and left behind an extensive oeuvre of more than 300 oil paintings, many drawings and individual prints. Her works are on display at the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt, the Gemäldegalerie Dachau, the Hierling Collection at the Buchheim Museum in Bernried on Lake Starnberg and the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in Munich, among others.
