Descrizione
Excellent, early, deep black impression of the first state, created before the addition of the cross hatching on the left shoe of the seated person in the foreground. Cut to the plate edge. The depiction is one of Rembrandt’s most important works from the mid-1630s and is impressive for its rich scenery and the dynamic movement of the figures. – With minute foxmarks, mostly visible on the reverse. A small abrasion to the paper on the upper right edge on the reverse. Remnants and traces of ealier mounting on the reverse, otherwise very well preserved. Rarely found in this early condition!
