Descrizione

This work is characterised by a pulsating vibrancy and striking intensity of colour. Francis applies the colours red, orange, blue, green, violet and black in dynamic stripes, splashes and splatters. The colours flow into one another and overlap. The partially visible background creates a moment of calm in the composition as well as generating a sense of depth. Works by Sam Francis can today be found in many of the world’s most renowned museums and exhibition centres, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate Gallery in London.
